Last week an Continental Market came to Kirkwall for five days, we went in on the boat on Saturday to have a look. I must admit I was a lttle dissappointed, I had been looking forward to it and probabably imagined it to be bigger and better and more yummy things to buy. In reality there were only two stalls that appealled to me, well three if you include the german sausage van ( in reality just hot dogs with a big price tag) I bought three rye loaves and two rustic loaves one baguette and a bun, nineteen pounds! so had better really enjoy them oh, and the birds won't even get a crumb at that price. We also got time to look at the new tempoary Tesco store, should have known better being Saturday it was busy, and being all new I couldn't find anything was getting a little frustrated by the end. It's times like this that I wish I had a time machine or some sort of instant transporter to get me back home instead of a ninety minute ferry crossing, hey ho thats the price for being able to live in such a wonderful place. |
