Moving to Orkney

Quite a blustery windy day today, and heavy rain showers. I like it though, the garden could use a good drink and I don't have to make excuses so I can stay in and catch up on inside jobs, yes today I have made yet more raspberry jam and been catching up on my knitting and just resting up a bit.

One of our first baby blackbirds, now a juvenile is still coming back at night time to roost in the garden room. She is lovely, still got quite a speckled breast a lovely chocolate colour and not too timid. The last of this brood has finally fledged, but it didn't want to go. Mum came for several days after the others had gone and called and cajoled it. It's nice to know they are staying quite close by, I always keep an eye out for them.
