Well winter has well and truly begun, it hasn't slowly crept in. It arrived very fast with a huge amount of snow, that is still here well after a week and with more snow adding to it. Being so very close to the sea we very rarely see snow here, we can go to the shops in the village and be very surprised to see it has snowed whilst we haven't even seen a snowflake. The house is very quiet now that the kittens have gone to their new homes, we also lost Patches our border collie last weekend. She had reached a fine old age of 15, and was totally deaf and her eyesight had begun to fail. She died in the early hours of sunday morn, thankfully she just passed away in her sleep. Well not long now till Christmas, we did put up our Christmas tree unfortunately it didn't last very long. Rupert our six month old ginger cat, he is a vandal, he took it upon himself to totally destroy the tree and decorations. The first night it was up he did quite good job of dismantling it, he chewed through the tree lights in a couple of places, we managed to rejoin the wires and redo the tree. The following morning when we got up Rupert had been very busy, he hadn't just chewed through wires in a couple of places, he had made sure there was no way of re-joining the wires. There was bits of wire everywhere it looked like it had been through a shredder! So we gave in and took the tree down... |
