Moving to Orkney

People that visit this web site regularly will have noticed that it's undergone a bit of a makeover, by and large cosmetic with the addition of a bit of colour and some pictures. I've also added several Google videos that are very relevant to those considering a move to Orkney.

More major changes are the addition of this blog plus the addition of classified ads to the Housing section of the website. I didn't want to provide classified ads in a general sense, but felt that ads that related direclty to moving to Orkney may be of use to those considering a move., hence the focus on housing/property.

I have emailed all the Orkney estate agents offering free ad placement through 2008. the same offer is open to anyone with a property for sale or to rent. Just drop me an email with details and a few pictures if available (no more than four please) and I'll add it to the classified ads listing. By default the ads stay in place for 30 days, but you can always resubmit them again after that.

Andrew Sales of Orkney Property Sales has been the first to take up this offer, but also of particular interest in the context of moving to Orkney is his new website Test Drive Island Life: Orkney (http://orkneytheplacetobe.co.uk).

This site is dedicated to putting people considering a move to orkney in touch with places that can provide medium to long term lets allowing people to "Test Drive Island Life" before burning any bridges. What a great idea, wish I'd thought of that. Wait, I did! (see Home Page). Wish I'd done that... Anyway, good luck to Andrew with this new venture.
