Moving to Orkney

I read with interest a report in the paper about the installation of a new fibre optic cable from mainland Scotland to Orkney, to bring the BT 21st Century Network to Orkney.

This brings the promise of city exchange performance to even remote exchanges.

Bring it on I say!

Once operational this will be ideal for people such as myself working Internet based businesses from the outer islands.

I truly believe that this type of "homeworking" could be a real growth area for Orkney given the right telecommunications infrastrucure.

Wow how's that for techno waffle...
