Moving to Orkney

Westray has been the annuall home of Historic Scotland archaeoligists over the years exploring various archaeological sites on the island. Over the last couple of years they have been exploring a site on the Links of Noltland.

Yesterday they uncovered an engraved Neolithic sandstone figurine that has got the archaeological community pretty excited. It is said to be a discovery of astonishing rarity and belived to be Scotland earliest human face extimated to be 5000 years old.
