One of the good things that has come out of this whole excercise is that we have become much more aware of our energy usage. We don't heat rooms that we are not in. We've lost the lashings of hot water, available wether you needed it or not, that the Rayburn provided. So, we turn on the immersion heater and heat water when we want it!
We still use the multi-fuel stove in the lounge now that it has turned colder, but we would have anyway and it is heating the room that we're in the most. I have a panel heater in my office. But, really there's no way that the panel heater and the imersion heater are going to use £2000 worth of electricity. And, of course once the Fuel Poverty project is completed, we'll have a ground source heat pump to provide central heating again. I'll keep you posted on that one. |
