Lovely morning so had my breakfast in the garden room and watched a sailing boat in the bay, what a nice way to start my day. Decided that today is the day for digging up some of my new potatoes to have with our dinner, big disappointment! hardly a handful out of the tub. So had to empty a second tub, more in this one but most are very small. Maybe we should not have been so impatient. I moved onto my cuttings of various shrubs I had taken last year. I decided where to plant them out and got my son to dig the holes for them, holes dug plants put in and watered job done. They will not get bigger than the fence as the salt does for them, but at least they get plenty of flowers on them. I have planted Lavertera and Buddlias, purple Buddlias as well as the yellow pom pom variety, all three of these do very well here as I did the same cuttings the year before and they have come back quite well. Having planted these out it means I now have room for new cuttings, so got myself a lot of Sycamore branches. You may have guessed I like doing cuttings its plants for free! |
