Inter-Isles Sports, Planting and Cats... Print E-mail
Wednesday, 16 June 2010 12:50

Just put some bread dough to rise so thought I'd catch up with my blogging.  Today is inter-isles sports day, and this year its being held here in Westray. The morn started off a bit overcast but the sun has won through in the end, and its turned into a bonny day for it.

Inter-isle sports day is pretty serious in Orkney with many businesses giving employees time off to represent their island and Orkney Ferry timetables adjusted to cater for the associated travel requirements of competitors and supporters.

Me, I've been planting up lettuce, sweet peppers and cucumbers again as the first lot have not done anything. Oh and I also planted up some cat grass for Buffy (one of my cats).

I think he must have been a sheep in his former life as he just sits and grazes his grass till its nearly all gone, and it doesn't make him poorly he can't get enough of it.

Fudge on the other hand doesn't like it, but has a go anyway 'cos if Buffy's eating it it must be good! but no it makes Fudge sick.

They are both out catching themselves some sun in their private garden, they are inside cats not allowed out on their own so Hubby and Son made a lovely big enclosure for them. It means they can go out and be quite safe.

The only thing is they must be very daft cats as they still haven't got the hang of the cat door yet, if its not pegged open they just sit waiting till someone opens it for them.
